It has been observed by certain inquisitive Persons of Distinction a certain -- and most distressing -- thinning of Ideas. That being: in circles of fantastical Interest favor has been rendered to those Creatures which posess an uncommon charisma and perennial Appeal, while lesser-known specimens fall by the wayside, forgotten and ignored.

To remedy this most unfortunate and apalling neglect, these selfsame Persons of Distinction have taken it upon themselves to incorporate the Society for the Preservation of Dying Breeds. The Society is devoted to the research, documentation, and perpetuation of those lost Sprites, Shadows, and Phantasms which have been discussed.

It is the Society's intent that the official Reports will be disseminated in a regular and timely fashion, but in our Modern era it is sometimes difficult to ensure that this will always be so. Nevertheless the Society will endeavour to publish no less than once a week.

Being a Company borne of a liberal and progressive philosophy, the Society is by no means exclusive to those Interested Persons who should like to contribute by way of report or illustration to the Catalogue.
